Pastor Charlie Arms is originally from Knoxville, TN.
He did not grow up in church, but came to faith just after High School. While involved in a college ministry, he was asked to fill in speaking at a local church… and wound up serving as their pastor while he finished college. Charlie has a seminary degree and has served 20+ years in ministry, including previously planting a new church in Florida. In his heart, Charlie believes church planting is the single best way to reach people who are disconnected from church. Charlie played football at East Tennessee State University and has been a life-long sports fan! He is a Cowboys fan, but really loves NCAA football best… mostly rooting for his hometown Tennessee Vols. In his spare time, he enjoys movies. Charlie is a closet Trekkie and lover of everything Sci-Fi.
Charlie’s wife, Rebecca, is a native Coloradoan, hailing from a small town just east of Denver (and yes, she is a Broncos fan!). She gave her life to Christ while attending a college ministry and served as a youth pastor at her home church in Colorado. Rebecca has a diverse background, including Master’s work in Geology, published articles in the field of Paleontology, a degree in Russian, a military background in Naval Intelligence, and much more! She loves to be creative in quilting, crocheting, scrapbooking, etc. She enjoys using her artistic skills in the church to create visual media for worship.
Charlie and Rebecca are proud parents of Amalia and Charles. Amalia is a a sophomore at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, and strangely, she will be a junior after the fall semester because of all her credits acquired at CPHS! Unbelievable! She is involved in leadership at a church plant in Anderson and serves in the children’s ministry area. She is a full-time student in the Department of Political Science. Charles is a junior at Crown Point High School and plays basketball for the Bulldogs! His interests are in the fields of Genetics and Mathematics. Charles enjoys serving in our Club Mo kids program as a volunteer and loves coming to Velocity Youth on Tuesdays at Momentum.
